It felt like the first real day of summer today, and if last year is anything to go by, it will be the last until a mini-heatwave in October.
Tom returned home with a feast of sushi for lunch and, just as we were about to tuck in, we got a text from Calum inviting us out to a BBQ in the Meadows.
We rushed out to catch the last of the sunshine, grabbing snacks & supplies from the shop on the way.
Calum, Harriet, Sara and Kirsty joined us for the BBQ, as we attempted to cook halloumi and portabello burgers.
They took a while to cook but turned out way tastier than anything else we've ever cooked on a disposable BBQ. I think I might need to whip up a second batch for dinner tomorrow.
We ended the evening with millionaire sundaes and a discussion about where the '99 flake got it's name from at Luca's. Our favourite suggestion was that it came from the street address where it was invented in Portobello.
I also had a couple of bites of Tom's snowball.
