Afterwards we took a tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary which was once the second most visited attraction in the US after Niagara Falls.

We were given audio guides narrated by Steve Buscemi.

This prison was the first of its kind, designed so that prisoners would be in complete isolation with their own small exercise space, where they wouldn't see or hear another person throughout their stay.

It was so good being let loose to explore the corridors unattended and show yourself around.

It was so creepy and reminded us of Arkham Asylum.

Most of Twelve Monkeys was shot here as well as a few other movies and music videos.

Al Capone was once locked up here in a fancy cell on a part of the prison they called Park Avenue.

As the demand grew, they added extra wings and levels to the prison. It was a gigantic place.
