We then went to Henry Doorly which is one of the top four zoos in the world.
The dessert dome was amazing. It was similar to the greenhouses you'd find in a botanical garden but there'd be an animal running between your feet everywhere you looked.
We loved the meerkats.
The bat-eared foxes looked like a cat crossed with a rabbit.
I think that the Okapia have to be my new favourite animal as they're a cross between my current two favourites, the giraffe and the zebra.
We then took a ride of then Skyfari which was amazing.
I was scared my shoes might slip off in to the leopard enclosure.
When we got off the ride, we went to see the rhinos.
We then walked down to the river, which was really pretty.
There were also sealions.
There was an island in the middle with lots of monkeys climbing on the trees.
There was a bridge over it and you could buy food to feed the carp.
It was amazing watching them swarm and swirl for food.
We then went for a walk through the aviary.
There were birds everywhere.
We then went to see the bears.
There was also a petting zoo with so many adorable little goats.
This bunny was so soft.
There was also a budgie experience where you could feed them seeds.
We then took a steam train around the perimeter of the zoo.
They were so cute and so chirpy.
After the train we had a ride on the carousel.
We then went to see the cats.
The tigers were having a really lazy day.
We grabbed lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.
The jungle was huge with animals everywhere.
I had a tuna croissant.
There were even tapirs which are one of my favourite animals.
Afterwards we walked through the butterflies which were so pretty.
We then went to see the penguins.
There were so many of them.
There was also an aquarium with sharks.
It was just as good as any other aquarium I've ever been to.
The final part of the zoo we had to see was Creatures Of The Night, which was a giant swamp underneath the dessert dome.
It was pitch black and absolutely terrifying.
Tom kept laughing at me for being so scared of the alligators.
There was an amazing bat cave which looked right out of Batman: The Dark Knight.
This morning we took my parents to Henry Doorly Zoo.
We started off in the Desert Dome which is just amazing.
We went down in to the Creatures Of The Night to find the albino alligator in the swamp.
The kids in front of me kept calling him a "philipino alligator" which was driving their parents mad.
We then went through the jungle and Dad pretended to be Indiana Jones.
We then had a quick look in the aquarium.
We then went to see the big cats where we got to see a white lion.
Next were the bears which Tom tried to imagine cuddling in bed.
We then went to the petting zoo where Dad got to try milking a fake cow.
Finally, we popped in to see the budgies before heading off.
