I'd found a deal online for a stay at the Malmaison with afternoon tea, and as we needed to be in Dundee the next day, decided to treat ourselves to a night there.

It's in the old Tay Hotel, which I've always wanted to see inside. We had Dennis The Menice over our bed,

We woke up in our cosy bed at the Malmaison in Dundee this morning and it was time for breakfast in the bistro.

Our cooked dishes took an hour to arrive, which was a bit annoying but my waffles with salmon and cream cheese were delicious and Tom loved his eggs florentine.

Because breakfast took so long, it was time for the afternoon almost directly afterwards, so we checked out and made our way back to the bistro where we were poured glasses of champagne.

We tucked into sandwiches, cakes, scones and really tasty creme brûlée tarts but we weren't that hungry after breakfast, so we got a box to take our leftovers away.
